The cable connection box is mainly used for the connection, branching and switching of cables or wires, which can protect the fusion of optical fibers and maintain stable signal transmission. 1. Preparation of cable connection box before installation:
Environmental inspection: Before installation, make sure that the installation site is free of strong electromagnetic interference, corrosive gases and frequent vibration. The direct burial scene also needs to check the pH of the soil to avoid direct burial in saline and alkaline areas.
Tool list: Essential tools include fiber optic wire strippers, welding machines, alcohol cotton, sealing tape and wrenches. If it is a special scene, it is necessary to add a hoop holder for overhead use and an anti-rat bite sleeve for direct burial.
Product inspection: After opening the box, check whether the model of the cable connection box matches the usage scenario, check whether the sealing ring is damaged, whether the port thread is complete, and whether the accessories are complete.
2. Installation steps of cable connection box:
Fixing and stripping of optical cables: Organize the optical cables according to the number of cable connection box inlets, and use special fixing parts to snap the optical cables into the base of the cable connection box to prevent pulling and causing the optical fibers to break. When stripping the cable, the stripping length of the outer sheath needs to be 5-10cm deeper than the depth of the welding disc inside the cable connection box. After exposing the armored layer, trim it to flush with steel wire shears, and then peel off the inner buffer layer to expose the optical fiber.
Optical fiber welding and disc fiber: Clean the surface of the optical fiber with alcohol cotton and put it in the welding machine for calibration. After a single welding is completed, it needs to be tested for loss. If it is unqualified, it needs to be re-welded. The spliced optical fiber needs to be coiled into the splicing disc. The radius of the coiled fiber is ≥30mm to avoid excessive bending and signal attenuation. Each circle of optical fiber needs to be fixed with a cable tie. Pay attention to the tightness of the cable tie. The standard is not to press the fiber. Finally, cover the cover of the splicing disc and do not expose the optical fiber.
Layered sealing and fastening: The primary sealing should be wound with 3 layers of sealing tape at the inlet of the optical cable. The tape should fit closely with the optical cable sheath and there should be no air bubbles. After putting the waterproof gland, tighten it evenly with a wrench. The strength is best based on the micro-deformation of the rubber strip. Excessive force may cause the gland to crack. The secondary seal should be laid with a full circle of weather-resistant silicone strips at the joints of the upper and lower housings of the cable connection box. After aligning the bolt holes, tighten the bolts clockwise, and finally check that the gap in the housing is ≤0.1mm. For direct burial scenes, a PE protective tube needs to be set on the outer layer of the joint box and filled with fine sand for anticorrosion.
3. Operation points of different scenarios of cable connection box:
Overhead installation: use hoops to fix the cable connection box to the pole or steel cable, with a height of ≥3.5 meters and an inclination angle of ≤5°. When the multi-connector boxes are connected in series, the spacing needs to be ≥5 meters to reduce signal interference.
Pipeline installation: The cable connection box needs to be fixed on the pipeline bracket, and the distance between it and the inner wall of the pipeline is ≥10cm. PVC protective pipes are required to enter and exit the optical cables to prevent friction damage in the pipeline.
